DMP Club Meeting - 4-20-13

DMP Club meetings are back in action and today's meeting was actually full of action! Not the movie sort of action but the planning sort of action is still pretty awesome. So here is a brief rundown of the things we talked about:

• Have more contributors to the club blog, which would write small articles about specific topics related to the craft. It would be an ongoing, rotating sort of thing giving everybody the chance to contribute.

• Create a donation-based system for students to help other students by offering our services needed by other majors. For instance, if a fashion student needs a photo shoot done they can come to us and we can do the shoot at a fixed donation price that is very inexpensive and helps to build the club and diffuse the costs of the labor.

• A movie night, once a term(possibly more), where we all get together to watch a movie and critique and talk about it.

• A club field trip to some place interesting that might be useful for learning or just plain fun. The nuclear power plant in southern Washington is the first proposed place we hit up.

There were many more topics we discussed today but I think I hit all the major points. If anybody who attended thinks I missed anything important please chime in with a comment down below so we can all benefit from a more comprehensive memory than my measly brain can conjure up at the moment.

All in all it was a successful meeting and I look forward to seeing who makes an appearance on Tuesday morning at 10am! Hope to see y'all there!

Here is one of the new stabilizing rigs projected to be shipping in the summer, with a video to show an interesting shot as well as the behind-the-scenes footage of how they did it, which is pretty cool and possibly something it would be nice to try building do-it-yourself style.
